YouthEmpowered Newsletter September 2020

BREATHE! STOP AND BREATHE!

When going through social media or watching the news, you realize that there is so much going on in the world today. With all the different worrying issues happening worldwide, you cannot afford to add a career-stress to your list of worries. If you allow a setback in your career to add to the other issues around you, the combination of it all can make you feel scared, anxious, depressed, broken-down, or even suicidal.

If you ever feel stuck or confused in your career, or the happenings of the world around you seems like a lot, it’s okay to stop and breathe. You do not want to be overwhelmed by all these uncertainties, you need to remember, you are not in a career competition with anybody, the only competition you should have is with yourself.

Taking a breath, can range from staying offline for a bit, or using a hobby to block out the noise of the world or simply taking a long nap. Do whatever you can to protect your mental health because if you crash or give up as a result of the pressure or the uncertainties, the world will keep on moving. So take a break when you need it. Your mental health will thank you.
