The importance of Guidance and Counselling in the school system is an imperative element to help address the challenge of violence, truancy, peer pressure and other challenges in the school system. Sahara Foundation with support from Kasher recognizes the need of standard guidance and counselling centres in secondary schools and thus have set up a standard state of the art G&C centre in Abuja.

The project provides a conducive and healthy environment for students to access information. A trained counsellor is available at the centre through school hours to attend to the needs of the students. Also hosted in the centre is an updated library which the students can access. The centre serves about 5,000 students from 5 secondary schools within Abuja
