World Malaria Month

Malaria No More Nigeria, Africare and Youth Empowerment Development Initiative (YEDI) partnered to commemorate World Malaria Day. Ratherthan focus on just one day, the three organizations championed activities around Malaria prevention all through the month of April. World Malaria Day is April 25 annually.

On April 23, Total Group in Nigeria comprising of the upstream and downstream sector commemorated world Malaria Day by distributing and hanging Long Lasting Insecticide Nets in 500 households in Ibafon community. The employees of Total Group in Nigeria, supported by community volunteers and carpenters hung the treated nets in the homes of 500 residents of Ibafon community giving preference to pregnant women and children under 5 years. Direct beneficiaries of the project are about 3,250. The intervention is part of Total’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
