Heifer International | Building Farmer Resilience Through Digital Weather and Extension Services in Senegal
The “Building Farmer Resilience Through Digital Weather and Extension Services in Senegal” project is being funded by Heifer International to support small-holder farmers in Senegal to optimize decision-making and mitigate weather-related risks through access to SMS-based climate-smart agronomic advisory and rainfall forecasts.
Our role was to evaluate the project’s impact through qualitative and quantitative research. We engaged with 2,338 farmers through interviews, surveys and focus group discussions.
Over 80% of the small-holder farmers interviewed acknowledged the importance of Weather and Climate services in planning their planting season.
